AMD XP 1900 & Thermalright SK 7

Introduction

Well, the Thunderbird 1.4 got me by for nearly a year, but it was long due for replacement. So,
I decided to get a 1900+ AGOGA and SK-7 to fill that spot. Following are some pics of the
severely beaten T-Bird chip, and also the 1900+. I do not unlock the 1900+ in this article,
although once I do I will be sure to post info.

The old 1.4. It’s been a long time since this thing has seen the light of day.

It’s certainly not looking any better than before…

Close-up shot – you can notice the small chip on the core edge.

Side by side. You can really tell the 1.4 has been around in this shot.

A close-up of the 1900+. Tough to make out but it’s AGOGA.

And it’s installed with the SK-7 and some AS3!

But what about the stuff that really matters? Like the benchies? Well, look below for
Sandra, 3DMark and CPUID info, and also some great temps under ITE SmartGuardian.
The real test has yet to come, these are some preliminary figures to see it’s performance.
EVERYTHING is at stock.

Stay tuned for more benchies once I start OC’ing this thing. I can’t wait to see what kind of 3DMarks
I can get; considering I was hitting 12,000 with my previous setup completely OC’d, and that’s only
500 points more than the 1900+ with everything at stock. Until then, tweak on!
